No way to say, "Yeah okay" or "mh maybe just pause the relationship" or "nah, let's work together on a better solution". What makes me bitter is how the player has no choice in this matter. But the game seems incomplete as it is, so it's understandable if that was considered but dropped at one point in order to finish the game. Honestly, considering the game let you create your own character, it'd be nice if they allow us to make a bad decision and suffer the consequence. There are many choices that let you offer yourself to be a vampire like him, and I think the game regards that as a self-destructing choice and shows that if you keep seeing him like this, you'll end up being a vampire one day and it might be a choice that you'll regret.
Perhaps him deciding to break up is the biggest change as it shows that he prioritizes the main character's well-being over his need to have fun. He's been around for over hundred years so on top of age & experience imbalance between the mc and him, he doesn't seem to care about changing himself either.
Boyfriend dungeon sunder good end how to#
Each sword feels like their stories are meant to show different ways of how to make a relationship healthy and for Sunder's case, that is breaking up.
The game doesn't seem to have major branches in the story. Lilael you are right, we can't help/fix everyone but it would be nice too, especially the ones that have been put in the path of the MC we are playing. He's a vamp that is scared of commitment and is scared that the mortals he loves will die in the blink of an eye for him (It's a common fear for characters that are vamps in any series). Not to mention Mandy is one of Sunder's ex lovers as well. Mandy is pretty harsh and cynical about him, but she knows him over 100 years and there is some truth as he's proven. Mandy even tells you he has an addiction to the control he gets being with innocent partners which MC has never dated until this summer. He's double edged, you're getting positives the feel-good and inevitably the negative comes. When he's talking to Mandy, he's going on about that he is unsure and didn't feel an instant connection (whether that's about the MC or his last lover is unsure). His character is someone who goes through lovers quickly. Especially if he doesn't even want to change. I still appreciate Sunder as he is however, because as much as people like to think sometimes they can change a person and they're as special as they're told, it's a fantasy and not a reality.
